Private AI for Law Firms

Client Files Should Never Leave Your Office. Now Your AI Does Not Have To.

A private AI appliance that answers questions from your own documents, with source citations, on your own network. No cloud accounts and no per-seat subscriptions for core use. Any remote access or backup destination is identified and agreed during setup.

The Problem Every Managing Partner Already Knows

Your team is already using AI. Industry surveys put AI use among legal professionals at roughly four in five, and most firms have no written AI policy. That gap is where the risk lives: staff pasting client matters into public chatbots that run on someone else's servers, under someone else's terms.

The rules have caught up. ABA Formal Opinion 512 puts the duty on the lawyer to understand where client information goes before it enters a generative AI tool. The State Bar of California updated its generative AI guidance in May 2026 and is weighing amendments to the Rules of Professional Conduct that treat exposing confidential information to AI systems as a potential disclosure. And in 2025, a federal court ordered a major AI provider to preserve user chat logs, including deleted chats, as evidence in a copyright case. Text typed into a cloud tool can outlive the conversation, on infrastructure your firm does not control.

None of that makes AI less useful. It makes the location of the AI the whole question.

The Answer: AI That Lives Where Your Files Live

Unlimited Local AI builds private AI appliances: compact, workstation-class machines that run modern AI models entirely inside your office network. Your team gets a familiar chat interface and a document Q&A workspace built from files you choose. Ask a question in plain English; the answer comes back in seconds with the source passages that support it, from a machine you own, in a location you control.

For core daily use the system needs no internet connection. In that configuration there is no vendor account holding your prompts and no usage log outside your walls. Optional connections such as updates, remote support, or internet search communicate externally only when you configure or authorize them, and each one is documented at handoff.

What Firms Use It For

  • Ask questions across firm templates, closed-matter samples, and policies, and get answers with the exact source passage cited.
  • Summarize long documents without the document leaving the office.
  • First-draft letters, memos, and client communications in private chat.
  • Onboard new staff faster by making firm knowledge searchable in plain English.
  • Give every attorney and paralegal the same assistant, with role-based accounts.
  • Answer "what is our AI policy" with something better than a ban: a tool the firm actually controls.

AI output is a starting point, not a finished product. Everything the system produces requires review by a qualified professional before it is relied on or filed. We put that in writing, in the documentation, on install day.

Questions Lawyers Ask

Where do our documents actually go?

Onto the appliance in your office, and nowhere else. Documents are processed and stored on the machine you own. You can unplug the network cable and it still works.

Is this compliant with our bar obligations?

We do not make compliance claims and we do not give legal advice. What we provide is architecture: your client information stays on hardware you own, inside your office, which is the posture your confidentiality analysis starts from. Review your obligations with your own advisors.

How good are the answers?

Strong for document Q&A and drafting support, and every answer shows the source passages it drew from so you can verify in one click. It is an assistant, not an associate: everything it produces requires human professional review.

What if it breaks?

Your install includes documented backup and reset procedures, a 30-day support window, and plain-language documentation written so any competent technician can maintain the system. Optional care plans are available after that.

Why not just use ChatGPT Team or a legal AI subscription?

Those can be reasonable tools, and some firms use both. The difference is structural: cloud tools process your matters on infrastructure someone else operates, under terms that can change, with per-seat fees forever. This appliance is a one-time purchase your firm owns, and core document processing runs on hardware inside your office.

Who are we dealing with?

A San Diego company doing founder-led builds and installs. We are new, we are small, and we act like it: the founder scopes your system, installs it, and answers the phone during your support window. Every system is built to order after a consultation.
